The Global BC News Hour team of Chris Gailus, Squire Barnes and Kristi Gordon will host the News Hour from Parksville on Wednesday, Sept. 25, broadcasting from the waterfront gazebo in the Community Park.

The crew will set up during the day, starting about 11 a.m., and then broadcast segments for BC 1 and the Early News prior to the 6 p.m. news broadcast.

Everyone is invited to come to the park, meet the crew, watch the broadcast.

City Communications Officer Debbie Tardiff says she's hoping the crew will be available for meeting and greeting sometime between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Mayor Chris Burger called it "a great opportunity for the City of Parksville."

Global BC will broadcast from five communities on Vancouver Island during the week of Sept. 23: Parksville, Port Hardy, Comox, Duncan and Tofino.

Global BC is offering a chance for a local child to be in a live weather appearance with Kristi Gordon. You can enter the contest at http://globalnews. ca/bc/contest.
